§ 10-80. Swimming or wading.

  • No person in a park shall:

    (1)

    Swim or wade in any waters or waterways in or adjacent to any park, except in such waters and at such places as are provided therefore, and in compliance with such regulations as are herein set forth or may be hereafter adopted.

    (a)

    Swimming areas open to the public are restricted to the designated areas on Boiling Spring Lake, Seminole Lake, Spring Lake, Take Lake and Mirror Lake.

    (b)

    City property owners and/or residents and their guests may use any remaining lakes with a park area adjacent to the lake. Swimming in all other lakes without a designated public park is restricted to bordering property owners, residents, and their guests.

    (c)

    The city may, from time to time, grant a special use permit (see section 10-52 and Appendix A) to use designated swimming areas for formal, scheduled swimming or diving classes which shall be open to the public.

    (2)

    Frequent any waters or places designated for the purpose of swimming or wading, or congregate thereat, except between the hours of sunrise to one-half hour before sunset.

    (3)

    Dress or undress at any bathing area, or in any vehicle, except motor homes, toilet or other place, except in such bathing houses or structures as may be provided for that purpose.

    (4)

    Swim in the nude.
